You always hear that birds of a feather flock together, but that opposites attract. In many ways, Neal and I are very opposite. I like the sciences and he prefers humanities. I get excited and disappointed about most things, but his emotions stay constant. However, in a lot of ways, we are very similar. I was reminded of an example last weekend when we visited his parents in Pennsylvania. I drove my mom crazy growing up because I had certain methods for how everything should be done. I always sat in the exact same chair for dinner (while the rest of my family moved around) and had to have my Christmas presents arranged a certain way in my special corner before I would unwrap anything. When we went shopping for school supplies she always had to ask the checker for an extra bag so I could separate my pencils and erasers from the rest. I'm not really sure why, but I had a method, and I wanted it to be followed. Neal is the same way. We took our laundry to Kittanning with us (the laundry mat near our home is a laundry mat/pub-in-one "Where laundry can be fun," so I am happy to avoid it when possible), and I noticed a sign on his parents dryer that is still up from Neal's high school days.

Birds of a Feather...
I can just imagine Neal explaining to his family about how he wanted his laundry done. He probably drilled it in so much, no one ever dared to take down the sign, lest they forget years later. I just laugh about it because that is exactly something I would have done.

This one made me laugh out loud. I've wondered why that sign is still on the dryer. And I love that your laundromat is also a bar. That's a new one.
