Tomorrow is Neal's birthday--the big 25. We learned last night that at 10:00 am here on May 3, it is actually May 4 somewhere (mostly just the ocean and a few islands), so we decided to celebrate today because tomorrow is the first day of finals week. It is not just any day of finals week either. Tomorrow he has to take an 8-hour final. I don't quite understand. I'm okay with the ACT, SAT, LSAT, Bar Exam, etc., taking that long, but this is just a final for a silly 3-credit class! Well, at least it is him and not me! For his birthday, I cashed in our credit card reward points and got him...
A few other updates...Neal has decided to run a marathon. He is going to train this summer and we have signed him up for a Sept 19 marathon at Wright-Patt AFB. I am going to join him for the first 10K as a photographer.
I planted a garden. Okay, I picked up the broken glass and put peas in the little patch of dirt underneath where the guy reads our water meter. This is a picture from almost a month ago. My garden proves the theory of plate tectonics. I planted all my seeds in a straight line, but when the crust under the earth shifted, two little peas moved out of the row. I couldn't force myself to weed them out.
Here's Neal wishing he could leave his books and join me in the sunshine.
